Subject specialists frequently visit the school to interact with students to help them gain insight into various walks of life and topics of interest. Teachers organise field visits for students to understand the practical workings of concepts learnt. Mr. Sivakumar, Education Officer from WWF visited the Junior School on 06/ 07/ 09. He had an interactive session with the members of Nature Club. What is Nature ?, role of a human being in the nature, its importance to human life, the dangers that threaten the nature and measures to be taken to safeguard nature were some of the points discussed. He gave a power point presentation to make it interesting. Students were quite enthusiastic and took active participation in the interaction. They came out with many ideas on how to protect nature. They understood the role of nature club in this respect. The visitors from UK, Mr. Stephen Wass (head teacher of St. Mary’s Church of Primary School, Banbury, Oxfordshire) and Ms. Verna Wass (Primary School teacher of St. Mary’s Church of Primary School, Banbury, Oxfordshire) have been at school from 24th July. During the past two weeks, they have associated with a range of classes from KG 2 to class 12, conducted workshops, held discussions with staff on curriculum matter. A whole school assembly was conducted. The session was led by Mr. Stephen, where he spoke about – Our Motto – ‘Building a New Generation of Leaders’. This was followed by a talk on his interest and philosophy as an academician. They then gave performance where Mr. Stephen played the concertina and Ms. Verna performed a Morris Jig. They then spoke about the history of Morris Dance. At the end of the assembly they donated books to the library, which included books written by Mr. Stephen, books on Banbury and Morris Dance.
