Outward Bound Club
The club aims at the all round development of students – mental, physical, intellectual, social and emotional.
As the name of the Club indicates, the activities slated for the year 2006-2007 take the student out of the school campus right into the lap of pulsing, vibrant Mother Nature. The inaugural session of the club on 8 July not only introduced the aims and objectives of the club, but the participants also got a taste of trekking and climbing during the two hour soft trek to Vellanikkal Para. Equipped with an introduction to bird watching by Ms Saraswathi, they were encouraged to keep a look out for their elusive feathered friends. The session concluded with an informative talk supported by visuals, by Mr. V. Vasudevan, Sr. Scientist, Center for Earth Science Studies, Thiruvananthapuram.
With the goal of developing team spirit and understanding nature and wildlife, the Club, which works in close association with the school Nature Club, has chalked out an ambitious programme for the year.
