| A team of students from classes 9 and 10 were taken by
the Trivandrum International School on a tour of the United Kingdom
as part of a cultural and educational exchange programme. The team were
in the UK from the 6th to the 15th of June. They visited several places
of historical and educational value, as well as seeing a number of important
tourist attractions.
On the itinerary were Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Yorkshire moors and London. In Oxford, whilst touring the university, the students visited St. Peter’s College. They also spent time on the river and at the Pitt Rivers Museum. A theatre visit was arranged in Stratford – and also some bowling. The students spent time at Shakespeare’s birth place. After this there was a stop at Cadbury World, Birmingham. Reaching Lincoln, places visited were Lincoln Cathedral and our partner school, The Priory LSST. One day was spent at Priory LSST, where our students made a presentation on Kerala. They also spent three days at the school’s field centre up on the Yorkshire moors, the Rawson Centre. In Yorkshire, the tour continued with the varied experiences including the National Coal-mining Museum, the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and go-karting. The journey south brought the group to London, where a visit to the Tower of London was arranged, alongside sightseeing. Eleven students from Priory LSST are, at the moment, visiting the
Trivandrum International School. They arrived on 5 July and will be
here till 19 July. |
