Science and Literary Inter School Fest 2009 

The second annual science and literary inter school fest was held on Friday 7th August 2009. The formal inauguration and the opening ceremony of the fest was done by Mr. P. Radhakrishnan, scientist, Indian Space Research Organisation. His address inspired and lifted the spirit of the students. He asked the students to judiciously spend their time and choose a path that no one has tread by quoting the lines of eminent poet Robert Frost. He said 2009 was an year of importance to scientist as it was the 40th year of moon landing, 150th year of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution and 400th year of Galileo’s observations.

The campus turned out to be a platform for 21 schools of Kerala state to test their caliber and skill in the various competitions held. The judjes were adept in the field of their interest and the judgment was done skillfully. Young scientist and numerically yours were high octane and nail biting events

The much awaited time for the announcement of results was inching in and anxiety was writ on every participant’s face. The chief guest for the closing ceremony was Dr. V Adimoorthy, Associate Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre  and Dean of Research and Development of the Indian Institute of Space, Science and Technology.

Excellence in doing ordinary things extra ordinarily well and the secret of joy in work is contained in one word – excellence that’s what Dr. Adimoorthi stressed on in the closing ceremony.

The awards were given by Dr. Adimoorthi V, Mrs. George M Thomas, Patron of the school and Mr. M O Kuriakose , Principal to the prize winners. The coveted overall trophy was lifted by Le’cole Chempaka of Trivandrum city; and the runner up was Loyola School of Trivandrum.
