Page 20 of 22 Special assembly 31/7/09 A special assembly was conducted to honour Mr. Stephen Wass and Mrs. Verna Wass on 31/7/09. Principal Mr. M O Kuriakose chaired the function. Nayanika Krishnan and Akshay Ashok captains of junior and senior school were the comperes. Mr. Stephen Wass, is the Head Master of St. Mary’s Church of England Primary School, Banbury, U K and Mrs. Verna Wass is a French teacher and special need coordinator of the same school. During their stay they taught class 5 students traditional dance of England and students performed it during the assembly. Mrs Verna Wass’s skilful presentation of “Morris” a traditional folk dance form of Bloxham village to the music on “aconcertina- an instrument of 120 years played by Mr.Wass, was the most exciting event of the assembly. The students joined the beat and tapped to the music. Mr. Stephen Wass expressed thanks for the hospitality extended by the school and presented a book, “The amateur archeologist” authored by him to the school library. Besides he donated books and CD too. Akshay Ashok, School Captain thanked both Mr.Stephen Wass and Mrs Verna Wass for their kind gesture.
