COLOSSEUM 2009 25th July 2009 was the day that lifted the spirits of TRINS. The prestigious overall trophy of COLOSSEUM 2009 organised by St Thomas Central School was won by TRINS beating several city schools. In this annual cultural meet of St Thomas Central School, TRINS bagged three first places and one third. In the personality competition ‘czar of the war’ Aiswarya Nair of class 12 emerged first beating all the participant schools. She knew how to win the crowd when she was in the centre stage. TRINS danced their way to the top in the ‘passoe’ competition. They took the audience into their stride and was an easy walk to the first place. It was a fusion dance- classical and folk. The presentation, synchronization, costume and choreography of the ten participants were excellent. Yet another event that paved way to the top for the TRINS was the ‘spoovie’ (portmanteau word for spoof+ movie). The seven member team twisted the tale, they received for enactment. Laced their dialogues with a good sense of humor and coordinated well in portraying the theme The combined effort of Akshay Unnikrishnan and Karun Nambiar of class X in the ‘pot pourri’, creativity at stake made them tongue tied for a while, but with their dash of wit and bit of brains won the 3rd place Besides the individual trophies and certificates, the jubilant winners reached school with the overall trophy.
